Missouri Alliance for Children and Families facilitates planning and service implementation through a family-driven, multi-disciplinary team approach for families with children who have serious emotional problems. The Missouri Alliance is under contract with the Missouri Departments of Social Services and Mental Health to implement an interdepartmental pilot program in Central and Eastern Missouri. The Missouri Alliance supports community-based alternatives for seriously emotionally disturbed children who are at risk of being placed in or are already in structured residential settings. Through this program, children are given the opportunity to live with families or independently in a permanent setting. After the family and child are stable in their home or the child is stable in a semi-independent situation, the Alliance transitions the coordination of the care back to the referring agency.Because Every Child Deserves A Chance
