We are especially dedicated to helping older youth prepare for adulthood...

Our Story

Missouri Alliance for Children and Families (MACF) was founded in 1997 by a coalition of nonprofit agencies united by a shared purpose: to better serve Missouri’s most vulnerable children and families. Guided by a commitment to collaboration and innovation, these agencies came together to form MACF as a Limited Liability Company with the goal of creating a more responsive and effective system of care.

Shortly after its formation, MACF was awarded a contract by the Missouri Department of Social Services to provide specialized care management and a range of essential services for children and youth with significant mental and behavioral health needs. This marked the beginning of a lasting partnership with the state and a deep, ongoing commitment to improving the lives of children, youth, and families across Missouri.

Today, MACF and its partner agencies work together to serve more than 3,000 children, youth, and families each day. Our mission is centered on safety, permanency, and well-being. We help young people heal from trauma, grow in safe environments, and thrive in nurturing families. When reunification is not possible, we work to secure lifelong connections through adoption and guardianship.

We are especially dedicated to helping older youth prepare for adulthood by ensuring they have access to the skills, supports, and opportunities needed for long-term success. Whether supporting a young person transitioning out of care or helping a family build a stronger foundation, our work is always grounded in the belief that all children and youth deserve to grow up safe, supported, and connected to family.

About

Our Story, Our Mission, Our Values

Statewide Service

Our vision is for children and families to thrive and to live safely together by utilizing their own strengths and community resources, which are nurtured and supported through MACF and its partners.  When reunification is not possible, we work to find permanent homes through adoption and guardianship. We are committed to ensuring older children have the skills and support they need to be successful in adulthood. MACF is based in Jefferson City with offices in Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield and Dexter.
